  • Possibility of close up views of a variety of species that you might not see during the night - witnessing feeding displays from Buzzards, Sparrowhawk, Herons and more. (only available winter )

 The dawn sun rises, casting a lovely glow over the pond, which makes for some really atmospheric moments. Couple that with the ability to capture crystal clear images, reflected on the still water canvas as the wildlife visits the pond and you’re all set for a magical morning at Bawdsey Hall.

Our early morning photography experience at Bawdsey Hall takes place in our purpose built sunken hide at the heart of our private nature reserve. Situated several feet underground this hide brings you eye level with nature. It provides an undisturbed view along the waterline of our wildlife reflection pond. Offering fantastic photographic opportunities, and can include flawless, mirror like reflections, creating a canvas to capture portraits of some of the wildlife at Bawdsey Hall.

This is the perfect setup to capture shots of our regular visiting Buzzards, Herons and Egrets as they stop by to fish and feed without disturbing them - A very unique perspective into the wild world of Bawdsey Hall.

The session will typically start just before sunrise and will usually end around midday, lasting for roughly 4 - 6 hours, however timings will change depending on the time of year and depending on the current animal behaviour. We operate throughout all weather conditions as this offers the chance to capture wildlife within different atmospheres as they endure the elements.

Around the hide, night-vision CCTV cameras have been set up and positioned at key locations so we can see the animals that are in the grounds as they make their way to the pond. This allows photographers to spot when something is approaching so they can be ready for their arrival. This is a unique photography hide feature that has helped many photographers ensure they don’t miss out on any of the action.

Both of the hides are also large enough to host a group of photographers and come fully equipped with comfortable heated seats, Wifi access, Tea and Coffee facilities and plenty of space to stretch your legs if needed. David will be on hand to support you through the evening and guide you as you seek out wildlife. The idyllic surrounding and opportunity to draw on David’s wealth of photographic knowledge and technical experience creates the perfect package.
